Are we visiting you?

South Africa

Each year, the D.JM Management team travel the globe to your country to help spead the word about the opportunities available to primary level teachers in South London.

We visited South Africa in August and December 2008 sharing information about how to live and work in London, with interested and eligible Primary, Junior Primary Teachers.

We are recruiting fully qualified teachers who have the following documentation required by the UK Government in order to be able to live and work in England.

Passport and Visa

You need a current passport and relevant work visa to enter the UK to work.

to show identity and eligibility to work in the UK

No-one is able to work in the UK unless they can enter the country on any one of these entry visas:

  • A British or European passport
  • A United Kingdom ancestry visa
  • Highly skilled migrant visa. Information for this can be found through the UK Visa website.

Work Permit/Sponsorship

The rules have changed in England regarding the provision of work permit related work. Since November 2008 schools are now required to pay £1,000 for any work permit position. In addition the school needs to guarantee that the teacher requiring a work permit will also be eligible to do QTS (the Qualified Teacher Status Qualification), which requires the school to pay another £1000+ to put the teacher onto the course. QTS can be completed via a work based teaching position & takes 6 months or more to complete.

The changes to the provision of a work permit make it very hard for a school to want to employ a teacher who requires a work permit & who then also must obtain the QTS qualification in order to work in the UK.

If you are eligible to live AND work in London, you can register your interest by sending your details on our contact page or send us an email to say hello.

These sessions are also an ideal opportunity to meet Bronwyn DJM's London Managing Consultant.

Bronwyn is the key person each teacher will be working with when they first come to London. These Information Sessions are down to earth, realistic and organised to maximise opportunities for all participant to have their questions answered & their needs met.

We look forward to meeting you at either session.

See you there.
