The context:
Well-being can mean different things to different people. What one person feels is their personal growth and feelings of well-being may be completely different from another person. This stands to reason as we are uniquely different with have different goals, ambitions, personalities and skills. We define wellbeing as being about ‘how we’re doing’ as individuals, communities, and sustaining this for the future. Mindfulness is a meditation technique aimed at focussing the mind on the present moment. It is a relaxed, non-judgemental awareness of thoughts, feelings and sensations, paying attention to the experiences we have as they unfold.
The value of wellbeing & mindful practices is that they help prevent stress and create positive working environments for individuals and organisations to thrive.
We are privileged to also have publications from Tracy Zilm. Tracy’s expertise and leadership in well-being & mindfulness practices and processes are an inspiration. Her work with school communities, organisations and businesses in Australia and beyond, is without exception.
“The encouraging thing is that every time you meet a situation, though you may think at the time it is an impossibility and you go through the tortures of the damned, once you have met it and lived through it you find that forever after you are freer than you ever were before… You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, “I lived through this. I can take the next thing that comes along.”
